** PI4ME Pitch In For Mother Earth ———————————————————— The Land O’ Lakes Garden Club and the Lions Club of Land O’ Lakes are once again organizing this important initiative. Details are below. Get your kids and families involved to clean up our roads before cottage season gets underway. For my part, since I won’t be here on the 26th, I will run along Oborne Point Rd. from the end to as far as I can make it today and tomorrow.
Please get involved and have some fun while you are doing it.

On the PI4ME event day, April 26, 2025 from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm, we will have a large container at the Barrie Hall in Cloyne for litter collected that day. We will have all the supplies needed, including bags and gloves so people can pick up safely. For those who cannot participate that day we have made arrangements with the local Townships waste sites to take additional bags of litter with no fee if they identify themselves as being part of the PI4ME initiative. Addington Highlands will extend the grace period for 1 week after our event for dropping off additional litter to their waste sites. This litter must be in clear bags and have one of their bag tags attached (which we will have to give out at the Hall) They will also give us some 1 day waste site passes that we will hand out and these can be used at anytime.
For Addington Highlands we will have a limited quantity of their tags to give out at the Hall on Saturday. We will be encouraging all AH residents to become part of their Community Stewardship program so they can continue to pick up with no penalty on a regular basis. Being part of that program they can get bag tags from the Township offices in Flinton at any time.
We are asking all participants to separate any beer & liquor containers picked up and bring these to the hall to be donated to our partners the Lions Club of Land O’ Lakes, they will have a separate truck or container for this. We’re also asking participants if they can to bring their own “empties” to donate to the Lions that day for their ongoing fundraising efforts.
The Lions will host a free hot dog BBQ at Noon on the 26th so we can thank everyone who helped us put litter in its place 🗑️
