The SDRA is aware of the Hydro One application to eliminate the Seasonal rate class. This directive was issued by the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) in 2016 and has been ongoing ever since. The Federation of Ontario Cottagers’ Associations (FOCA) has been very involved since the beginning and has provided extensive information on the process at https://foca.on.ca/electricity-pricing/. There are a few points to be aware of:

• At this hearing, the OEB will not reconsider its decision to eliminate the Seasonal rate class
• The hearing is to determine when and how the rate changes will be implemented
• Anyone may submit a letter of comment using the form at the bottom of the OEB application page at https://www.oeb.ca/participate/applications/current-major-applications/eb-2020-0246-eb-2019-0234-eb-2016-0315#show

The SDRA will submit a letter of comment, advocating for a delay in the implementation of the rate change.
