ur resident ice watcher, Paul, is gearing up for an early thaw! See his message below.
Hi All,
I have been watching the ice over the last while. Though I can’t imagine a year when the ice goes out before April this could be the year. On February 5 I arrived home after a month away. I expected to find two feet of snow on the ice. Instead I found flat ice. We were even able to make a curling rink and get a few weeks out of it. But unseasonably warm temperatures put an end to that a few days ago. Which leads to starting the Great Canadian Skootamatta Ice Contest. We will start the contest now and run it until Sunday, March 10 at 11:59 pm. Get your guesses into info@skootamatta.ca. This is always a fun contest and lets us know that cottage season isn’t far away. Let’s have some fun with it.
