This Canada Day, while the boat parade and dock decorating contest will continue as planned, we invite members to take a moment and reflect on the history of indigenous peoples in this country. The acknowledgement of the thousands of gravesites at residential schools is a reminder that while Canada is a great country, we also have our own dark past. It is important to continue working together to unite the country, recognizing the trauma that has occurred, and moving toward reconciliation.
The SDRA Canada Day boat parade and dock decorating contest will be taking place on July 1st. The boat parade will start in Jacques Bay at 11:00 AM and be led by Communications Director, Paul Lindsay. Please maintain a safe distance between boats and be mindful of your wake, so as to not swamp other boats.
In the event of rain, we will advise of a rain date.
For the dock decorating contest, please submit your photos to info@skootamatta.ca.
