MEDIA RELEASE: Fall Dam Draw Down Starting October 9, 2018

Oct 02, 2018

Quinte Conservation has advised us they will begin their annual Fall Dam Draw Down on Tuesday, October 9, following the Thanksgiving weekend. This is exactly what they committed to so that our water levels would be consistent for the cottage season. Did you notice that the water level was quite consistent this year? Did you also notice that we had sufficient rain to keep the water level that way? Rainfall has a huge impact on our lake levels.

Quinte Conservation's Media Release follows below:

Quinte Conservation will be conducting the annual removal of stop logs in the Moira and Napanee regions on, or after, Tuesday, October 9, 2018. Shoreline residents can expect changing water levels above and below the following structures:

·         Skootamatta Lake Dam

·         Downey's Rapids Weir below Moira Lake

·         Caton's Weir below Stoco Lake

·         Lingham Lake Dam

·         Deerock Lake Dam

·         Upper Arden Dam

·         Middle Arden Dam

·         O’Hara Mill Dam

·         Laraby Rapids Dam

·         Varty Lake Dam

·         James Lazier Dam

·         Bellrock Dam

·         13 Island Lake Dam

·         Second Depot Lake Dam

·         Third Depot Lake Dam

Property owners upstream from these structures can expect water levels to decrease to normal fall levels and should ensure that all boats, floating docks, etc., have been removed before Monday, October 8, 2018.
