Land O'Lakes Garden Club Update
Feb 26, 2019
The Land O'Lakes Garden Club meets at 7:00pm on the 2nd Thursday of each month from April to November at the Pine View Free Methodist Church on #41 in Cloyne. When they started the club they did not hold meetings in the summer months, but at the request of many seasonal visitors they changed that so that those who come to their cottages for the "season" can go to their meetings! The Garden Club has some great speakers lined up for 2019! You can check out the details on their website at landolakesgardenclub.com You do not need to be a gardener to join their group and all are welcome! The Garden Club will be having their 2019 Annual Plant Sale on Saturday May 25th at the Barrie Hall in Cloyne starting at 9:00am sharp. The Cuddy family in Harlowe are helping again this year and are growing tomatoes, herbs and other veggie plants for the Garden Club in their greenhouse. The Cuddy's tomato varieties & other veggies are responsibly grown in a special soil mix that is pesticide-free. So don't shop at the big box stores for your tomatoes this year! Buy local and help support the Land O' Lakes Garden Club for its community projects. There will also be lots of perennials for sale at very good prices! These plants are donated each year by Garden Club members so you can be sure they will do well in your cottage gardens! This photo is of some perennials being “heeled” into Elaine Miller's pumpkin patch in Fernleigh. These will be dug up in May (if the ground ever thaws!) for the Plant Sale.
