REMINDER re Labour Day Weekend Fireworks

For those of you who may have missed our August 17 communication, we have some great news for SDRA members!

After consultation with KFL&A Public Health, we WILL be able to put on our annual Labour Day weekend fireworks show!

While outdoor gatherings are typically limited to 100 people or less, our event falls under O.Reg 364/20, Schedule 2, section 12, which applies to drive-in or drive-through cinemas, performances, etc.

In order for this event to go forward, the SDRA must INSIST on everyone’s cooperation on the evening of the fireworks display, so we can meet the conditions necessary under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act.

We need to ensure all boats are kept AT LEAST 2 metres away from all other boats at all times. Additionally, no gatherings on land are permitted outside your 10-person social circle.
Please limit the people on your boat to the people within your 10-person social circle (this means no “carpooling” with your neighbours UNLESS they are part of your regular 10-person social circle).

It should be another great show! We’re so pleased we’re able to have at least one event for our membership this summer.
